- PHSS_27234 was created such that older versions of
swinstall(1M) and swcopy(1M) will fail when attempting to
install or copy the patch. When the failure occurs, messages
similar to the following will be reported:

depot is corrupt. This error occurred in function

- Once this error occurs, the patch filesets will be left in
a corrupt state and should be removed from the system, or
depot, using swremove(1M).
- This behavior will occur when using any HP-UX 11.11 version
of Software Distributor (SD-UX) prior to patch PHCO_23578 or
SW-DIST product revision B.11.11.0109. The behavior will
also occur when attempting to swcopy(1M) the patch on a
pre-HP-UX 11.11 system.
- Please note this behavior only affects the ability of
swinstall(1M) and swcopy(1M) to manage the patch. If the
patch is successfully installed, there is no need to remove
the patch.
- To successfully install or copy the patch, a version of
SD-UX tools from patch PHCO_23578, or later, or SW-DIST
revision B.11.11.0109, or later, must be installed. One way
to determine if one of these more recent versions of SD-UX is
installed is to execute the command:
what /usr/sbin/swinstall
If the reported revision is 'SD-UX/B.11.11.00.07' or greater,
then there should be no problem managing the patch on the
system with swinstall(1M) or swcopy(1M).
- HP recommends that PHSS_27234 only be installed on
HP-UX 11.11 systems with a more recent version of SD-UX
installed. To ensure that the patch can be successfully
installed using all supported versions of SD-UX, this
behavior will be corrected in PHSS_27425 which is expected
to be released by the end of September 2002.

Resolution:
Motif2.1 PushButtonGadgets/CascadeButtonGadgets
in popup menu will be armed properly.

Removed the fix for JAGad50435.

The tclobam does not abort when more than
3000 principals are created.

NULL has been redefined to be 0L in
64-bit applications.

Resolution:
Set the environment variable XM_DRAG_NO_GRAB
to true (case insensitive) either from the
shell or from the application to restrict the
XServer grab during Drag.

Motif2.1 can now set XmNvalue by
XtVaSetValues when it is a multibyte
locale.

9. RowColumn Widget size is not resized on

Resolution:
RowColumn Widget gets resized.

using NINE_KNOB device.
Resolution:
The code in XListInputDevices() had the potential
to force alignment problems when the Xserver
was configured with input devices with an odd
number of axes. This was fixed to ensure that
all data copies issued using data in the reply
are double-word aligned.
11.ER: Please add internal support in Xlib
for HKSCS.
Resolution:
Made requested enhancement.
12.XwcTextListToTextProperty() does not handle JISX0212
characters.
Resolution:
One of the conversion routines used in the
eucJP locale had a defect when processing
JISX0212 characters. It properly converted
the characters, but it placed them in a
buffer which did not get returned to the
calling routine. This was modified to
move the converted characters to the
correct buffer.
13.Compound text may be incorrect in zh_HK.big5,
zh_TW.big5 and zh_TW.ccdc.
Resolution:
The routine used to determine the character
length based on the character data was incorrect.
This routine has been fixed to correctly
determine character lengths based on the big5
ranges.
14.Compound text handling may be incorrect in
zh_HK.hkbig5.
Resolution:
The routines used to convert a compound-text
string back to a character string were
incorrectly masking 0x80 into the resulting
string. This was incorrect and has been
removed.
15.Some 64-bit Xlib applications abort in UTF8
locales.
Resolution:
Some of the internal routines used when a UTF8
locale is in use had some code which was not
64-bit clean. The code has been fixed to be
clean in 64-bit environments.
16.Invalid characters in the GB18030 locale can
cause an infinite loop when processed.
Resolution:
The routines which process GB18030
characters in the GB18030 output method
used in Xlib did not properly detect
incomplete GB18030 characters. The code
was modified to detect and skip
incomplete GB18030 characters.
PHSS_25881:

Fixed the code in XSelectExtensionEvent() to use the
proper data decoding macro when placing data on the
request buffer that is sent to the Xserver. The new
macro properly decodes the XEventClass data as 64-bit
data when the application is compiled in 64-bit mode.
As a result, the XEventClass data appears in the correct
location in the data stream that is sent to the Xserver.
16.ER: Please add input support to Xlib for
the Euro symbol in Greek locales.
Resolution:
The input-processing code for the Greek
locale was modified to accept the Euro
symbol.

Resolution:
The default transport mechanism for local
clients was restored to the transport used
prior to the July 2001 X/Motif patches.
As a result, the $DISPLAY environment
variable (which is retrieved by XDisplayString())
is no longer modified to local:0.0.
2. VMSA app window is too large to be usable
on Linux display.
Resolution:
GetICValues() was fixed to correctly retrieve
the data located in the XNStatusAttributes
component of the input context.
3. ER: Please add internal support for
GB18030 character set.
Resolution:

1. Back up your system before installing a patch.
2. Login as root.
3. Copy the patch to the /tmp directory.
4. Move to the /tmp directory and unshar the patch:
cd /tmp
sh PHSS_27234
5. Run swinstall to install the patch:
swinstall -x autoreboot=true -x patch_match_target=true \
-s /tmp/PHSS_27234.depot
By default swinstall will archive the original software in
/var/adm/sw/save/PHSS_27234. If you do not wish to retain a
copy of the original software, include the patch_save_files
option in the swinstall command above:

To put this patch on a magnetic tape and install from the
tape drive, use the command:
dd if=/tmp/PHSS_27234.depot of=/dev/rmt/0m bs=2k
